Forrest Pre-School follows the vision "Belonging, Being and Becoming" in accordance with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) for Australia, set up by the Commonwealth Government in 2009. The five key learning outcomes are: Identity, Community, Wellbeing, Learning and Communication.
Identity - We want the children to feel safe, secure and supported with a strong sense of belonging to their family, the school, and the wider community.
Community - We give the children opportunities to feel part of the community and to develop their understanding of cultural heritage, background and tradition.
Wellbeing - We support all the children's connections with peers and adults, and encourage the children to make independent choices for their own health and wellbeing.
Learning - We encourage the children to explore the environment with curiosity and creativity. We recognise that all areas of learning and development are equally important and interconnected.
Communication - We encourage the children to direct their own play - experiences with their peers, and to engage in enjoyable social interactions to become independent communicators. We encourage the children to engage in song, dance, art and other expressive creative mediums.
